Who
This course is created for a grade 4 level math class.
Format
This course uses a blended learning model and an adapted flipped classroom model. There will be online instruction and practice as well as some suggested offline/in person practice. In a flipped classroom students watch the instruction at home and then teachers assist with the in class practice work. In this adapted flipped classroom I suggest having students watch the instructional video in class and then as they work on the practice work you help students as need be or pull groups for additional support.
Timeline
This course consists of a pre-assessment, unit launching activity, 7 lessons, and post-assessment to be covered over about 2 to 3 weeks
Tools
Students will access all lessons through Seesaw. You can schedule the Seesaw activity lessons ahead of time and edit the scheduled time as need be based on the pace of the unit and the needs of your learners. You can access all of the Seesaw activity lessons and teacher lesson notes through the lesson tabs.
Each Seesaw activity is an individual lesson within the fractions unit. It is broken down into Must and May Do Activities/Choices. For the "Must Do Activities" portion students will be expected to complete each step, but may have some choice within some of the steps. The "Must Do Activities" portion is laid out with an instructional video, practice work, and an assessment. The "May Do Choices " portion of the Seesaw activity will allow students some additional practice options they may choose to do once they are done the "Must Do Activities" portion. The Must and May do activities and choices will include other online tools, such as Google Forms and Jamboard. |

Concerns/Considerations
If students are absent they can do a lot of the lesson from home if they have Wi-fi as well as a tablet or laptop. If students are not able to work at home you can have them get caught up once they return. Seesaw activity lessons will include text and audio instructions to help support learners.
